What is the school's philosophy for students my child's age?
What makes us unique is that the school is bilingual and
international. The Toronto French Montessori School continuously
demonstrates care and affection toward each child. It is
recognized that each child learns at their own pace.
What facilities and equipment
does the school offer?
In addition to the traditional curriculum the school provides
Music, Gym facilities, Drama classes and Computer educational
programs for all classes. For Elementary classes in addition to
the programs listed above we offer Science, Spanish, English and
French lesson tutorial.
What extracurricular and
co-curricular activities are available?
For all classes the school has monthly field trips and Summer
Camp.
How does the school challenge
and support student achievement and leadership?
There are small class sizes with a ratio of 5 Students for 1
Teacher which provides better attention to each child's needs
How does the school encourage
involvement amongst parents, teachers and students?
There is a Parent Committee that meet each month to discuss
the school program and yearly activities.
Ask for an outline of the
school calendar. How long is the school day and school year?
For Pre School and Kindergarten hours run from 9:00 am to
3:30 pm. For Elementary School hours run from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
with a half hour tutorial until 3:30 pm. Our extended hours in
the morning run from 7:00 am to 8:30 am or 9:00am, and in the
afternoon from 3:30 to 6:00. Pre-registration is required. Cost
is additional to the school fees The school calendar year runs
from September to June and there is a summer camp for the month
of August.
What curriculum guidelines
does the school follow and how are students evaluated?
Our curriculum follows the Montessori guidelines, using
Montessori Method. We evaluate our students by using Montessori
theory.
What are the transportation
options for my child?
We have access to a private school bus service.
What is the admission process
for my child? When and how do I apply? Do you have specific
intake year Do you have waiting list?
Each parent must register their child as early as possible to
avoid disappointment. Fill the application with a deposit of
$250 (Non-refundable). For elementary level each child must pass
an entry level test. There is a waiting list.
How much is the tuition and
what other costs might I incur? (e.g. uniform, books, equipment)
What are my payment options? What student financial assistance
is available?
The tuition ranges in price for full-time $850 to $990 and
part-time $620 to $700 per month. The tuition for elementary
level is approximately $900 per month. The after school program charge is from $50 to $85 per
month. There is a hot lunch program $100 per month. Prices are
subject to change. Uniforms can be purchased through a specific
private retail store. There are tuition installment payment methods
available, i.e. quarterly or monthly.
