  Principal's Message

May 2005

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

The new playground is ready for the children to explore. Our playground is the continuation of the classroom in which the children can still use their sensory abilities and strengthen their gross motor skills. As Dr. Maria Montessori said, “When children come into contact with nature, they reveal their strength.” Also, Friedrich Froebel once said, “A child who plays and works thoroughly with perseverance, until physical fatigue forbids will surely be a thorough, determined person, capable of self-sacrifice.”

We will be having Planting Day on May 27, 2005. Children should bring their own shovels. Please label it with your child’s name. Let’s hope for good weather!

The theme of this month for Casa 2 is “Les animaux de la ferme” (Farm Animals).

This year, for the science project, the children will explore: egg hatching. This project provides students with a valuable and memorable experience. The objectives of the hatching program are to introduce the avian egg; to discover embryonic development and the incubation process; to develop responsibility and respect for farm animals through the caring and handling of hatchings; and to develop a better appreciation and understanding for the live hatchings once they have hatched. Let’s hope that all the eggs will successfully hatch.

Remember that the restaurant location has changed for our Spring Luncheon (the new address is indicated below). Also, children attending the event must behave properly. We are all representatives of our school and must set a good example.  Hope to see you all there.

Welcome Coffee has been cancelled due to concert rehearsal. I thank the parents who have helped clean up after the event, and especially Ms. Maggie Nagy, Mrs. Lily Cheung, and Mrs. Peggy Lee Bornilla.

A representative from the uniform company will come on May 13 at 3 pm to show us samples of the school uniform for next year.

Happy Easter to all of you who are celebrating!

Yours in Education,

Madame Marie
