Garbage from Lunch and Snacks

Dr. Montessori originated and supported the concept of children taking care of their classroom environment.  She taught her students that it was up to them to take care of the classroom.  Today’s Montessori schools follow this idea by creating in the hearts and minds of Montessori students a stewardship of the Earth; Montessori schools worldwide support and enforce the concept to Reduce, Recycle, and Reuse.  Here at Toronto French Montessori School we are implementing this concept further by asking the parents to pack garbage reducing lunches and snacks.  If you give your children snacks and lunches that produce waste then that waste will return in the children’s lunch bags.  Please use reusable dinnerware to reduce garbage that would go into landfills.
